Whenever you speak to Muslims about Islam, they will tell you that “Islam is the oldest religion.” And if you mention the violence that is written in their Qur’an, (i.e., numerous verses which order them to murder non-Muslims and commit terrorist attacks), they say, “You cannot believe the English translations of the Qur’an. There is only one Qur’an, the one written in Arabic.” And then they ask you, “Can you speak and read Arabic?” What is interesting is that most often the Muslims who make these arguments cannot themselves speak or read Arabic.
Muslims have been told by Arabs that “There is only one Qur’an, that it is written in Arabic, that it is eternal, and unchanged”…that was until 26 different Arabic Qur’ans showed up at Speaker’s Corner, and were held aloft by a number of Christians who have been researching them, and finding out that they are not the same. See the video below.
NOTE: Muslims tell you not to believe the English translations of the Qur’an, even though they were translated from Arabic into English by Muslims.
The Muslims use the argument that “the Qur’an is eternal” to claim that “Islam is the oldest religion.” But Islam is in fact not old. The first Qur’an was written by Arabs at the end of the 7th century after the Arabs’ invasions of their neighbors. In fact Islam did not exist during the Arabs’ 7th century invasions. Read Dr. London’s book In the Shadow of the Swords and watch his documentary Islam: The Untold Story.
In fact Islam is, at its roots, not a “religion,” but an Arab invention to control the people they conquered in the 7th century. And it has been changed numerous times to further the Arab conquests, even asking Muslims to emigrate to non-Muslim lands “in the way of Allah.” (Qur’an 4:100) Invasions and jihad are “in the way of Allah.”
